Bullying can be defined as unwanted and aggressive behavior amongst school-aged children and teens where there is a perceived or real imbalance of power. The behavior is either repeated over time or has the potential to be repeated. Examples of bullying include: spreading rumors, making threats, physical or verbal attacks, and purposefully excluding someone from a group.

Cyber Bullying is bullying that occurs through the use of electronic technology through devices like tablets, computers, and cell phones. Common tools of communication used for cyber-bullying includes social media, text messaging, chats, and websites. Examples of these behaviors include: intimidating text messages or emails, rumors sent through emails or social networking sites which may include posting embarrassing pictures or videos, or fake profiles.

Bullying and LGBT Youth: Lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender (LGBT) youth along with those perceived as LGBT face an increased risk of being bullied.

Children and teens who have been bullied may also experience symptoms of depression, anxiety, or anger outbursts as a result of being bullied. MCP provides a safe space and environment for children and teens experiencing this and offers support, education, and strategies on coping with this issue.
